Paul George On Kobe Bryant’s Sneaker Legacy
All-Star weekend in Toronto has turned into the Kobe Bryant show. The Lakers’ legend will represent the West for the 18th and final time this Sunday at Air Canada Center, and so on media day on Friday most players fronting the media were asked about Bryant at one point.
The Indiana Pacers’ Paul George, a self-confessed ‘Kobe sneaker head’ has been wearing Bryant’s signature Nike line for years since Bryant switched to Nike from adidas. Recently, George was one of the latest players to be blessed with a signed pair of Kobe’s by the man himself following their game on Feb. 8. Bryant entered the Pacers’ locker room and presented George with the pair.
Kevin Durant, Draymond Green and LeBron James have also been given signed pairs, or actual game-worn shoes as well.
We caught up with PG-13 at media day to ask him about where Kobe’s sneaker legacy lies, how his line will stack up against Jordan, and more.
