The Knicks are finally winning, and the smile is back on Carmelo Anthony’s face – for the moment. New York sneaked into the 8th seed in the weak Eastern Conference with last night’s 98-96 overtime win over the Phoenix Suns, and after the game Carmelo Anthony, who finished with 29 points and 16 rebounds, told the media that he feels the new year has brought on a change in the team’s mentality.
“Now I think mentally we’re a different type of team,” Anthony said. “Mentally, we’re starting to believe when we do get down, we still have a chance to win the basketball game.”
The Knicks face the Bobcats on Tuesday night in Charlotte, then have the Pacers in Indiana on Thursday, before backing that up with a home game on Friday against a Los Angeles Clippers squad playing minus Chris Paul.
