Video: Brett Brown Speaks About Ben Simmons’ Scan Results

A scan on Tuesday showed that Australian Ben Simmons’ right foot has healed and he has now been cleared to continue his rehab progression. Simmons will now be able to participate in 5-on-5 games with his teammates, but according to reports, he will not take part in any of the Sixers’ Summer League games this off-season.

“It’s all good news,” said 76ers coach Brett Brown prior to the the team’s last game of the season in New York Wednesday. “What that means in relation to what he can do on the court we’ll learn more about that, but the news is excellent.”

Simmons initially suffered the injury last September, and the team held out hope that he would return at some stage this season, however, a follow-up scan in February revealed that the foot had not healed completely and Simmons was ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Simmons revealed the results of his scan via the Uninterrupted website when he posted a video with a simple green check emoji.

“I did not have the season I wanted to,” Simmons said in the video. “I thought I would come into the league ready to go. I had a setback, but it gave me a learning opportunity most guys don’t get.”
