Carmelo Anthony Calls Knicks’ Performance An “Embarrassment” (VIDEO)
The Knicks thought they’d turned their season around after two blowout wins against the Nets on Thursday, then the Magic on Friday night. In theory Sunday’s matinee against the Celtics was a chance of another win and to make up ground on the Atlantic Division leaders, but from the opening Knicks’ possession, a Carmelo Anthony iso that missed, it was clear that this just wasn’t the Knicks’ day.
The Celtics 114-73 drubbing of the Knicks was the third largest winning margin by an opponent at MSG, the whole New York team playing like they were resting on their laurels from the Magic game. The team shot 34 percent from the field, and 37.5 percent from distance.
After the game Carmelo Anthony called the performance embarrassing.
“[It’s] an embarrassment to lose like that on our home court,” said Anthony. “I think everybody should be pissed off.”
