The 2014-15 Cleveland Cavaliers are a world removed from the team that Australian Matthew Dellavedova found himself on last season. The entire franchise’s fortunes changed when the King announced his return, also marking ‘The Land,’ as it’s known, as the new media hot-spot of the NBA.
Locker-rooms are now filled beyond capacity, stories have to be written, and even the city itself has a new-found anticipation of success.
It takes a strong player to be able to come out and continue playing his game under that intense scrutiny, but Dellavedova, himself no stranger to big games with the Australian national team, is handling the pressure just fine.
Dellavedova has been rehabbing a sprained left knee since Nov. 4, but he is expected to return on this current Cleveland road trip – most likely on Monday against Brooklyn.
Starting5online caught up with the Cavs’ point guard to talk about the craziness surrounding the team, his health, and the Australian national team being cleared of tanking allegations at the World Cup in Spain.
