The Nets came away with a win in their home opener on Friday night against the Miami Heat, led by the former Celtics Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. Although KG finished with just 6 points and 7 rebounds, his
influence on the defensive end was felt by the Nets.
Garnett spoke to the media after his first regular season game as a member of the Brooklyn Nets and said that he was looking forward to more games inside the Barclays Center, labeling the atmosphere on opening night “electric.”
“This place was electric, man,” said Garnett post-game. “I had to stop looking at the crowd, it was a huge distraction, but it was beautiful. The energy in here is incredible. Obviously I’m coming from Beantown and the energy in that city, but Brooklyn? God damn. Big up to Brooklyn, man.”
