The Knicks managed to defeat the New Orleans Hornets in the confines of Madison Square Garden, but after the game it was a revelation by forward Carmelo Anthony that he had been on a 15-day fast that got the media talking.
Anthony said the lack of energy had made him sluggish over the past fortnight, and added that he was looking forward to a proper meal.
“It’s a long story man. I haven’t had a good meal in about two and a half weeks. No meats, no carbs or anything like that so I don’t know how I was out there competing at a high level. I’m kind of going through something right now with my own self, trying to find some energy and things like that. But we’ll be fine,” Anthony said. “We bounced back pretty well, I bounced back pretty well, stuck with it and won the game. I usually do it sometimes just to get some clarity in my life and just spiritual reasons. I’m done now. I can’t do it no more. I surrender.”
